The Estrela Aspiring Geopark intends to foster scientific research, deepening and disseminating the scientific knowledge, and demonstrating how geological resources conditioned the human occupation in Serra da Estrela. Also, it seeks to demonstrate the scientific, cultural and touristic potential associated to the use of these resources, using it to foster the development of its communities.
